Carmel Clay Public Library

The Carmel Clay Public Library renovation and expansion transformed this pillar of the Carmel Arts and Design District into a sustainable community hub. Following guidance from the community and library staff, KBSO Consulting provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection designs for the project, which aimed to reduce building energy usage and create diverse new spaces for community events and youth engagement. As a result, a building controls upgrade enhances energy conservation and facilitates operation of the new high-efficiency boiler plant and the expanded chiller plant, maintaining comfortable temperatures in cozy study nooks, expansive meeting rooms, and two-story open spaces. A robust lighting retrofit complements warm interior colors and plentiful natural light, ensuring an inviting ambiance for large social events and small group collaborations. KBSO Consulting is honored to have contributed to this definitive modernization project as Carmel Clay Public Library continues a second century of community engagement.
