KBSO Consulting was responsible for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design for the new Assessment and Intervention Center on the campus of the new Justice Center in Indianapolis, IN. The new building houses a control room and offices for Emergency Medical Services and the Mobile Crisis Assistance Team. It also includes ambulance and MCAT parking, patient receiving, client transfer, exam rooms, laundry, a central kitchen, a bed bug burner, and temporary housing for individuals in crisis behavioral health situations. The project achieved its goal of LEED Silver certification and included sustainability strategies, including a highly efficient central heating and cooling plant, energy recovery, and a chilled beam air distribution system.
