Carmel Clay History Museum
The new Carmel Clay History Museum is designed to vividly convey Carmel, Indiana’s storied growth from an 1800s Quaker settlement into a vibrant, modern city. In partnership with museum planners, KBSO Consulting provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low voltage technology (MEPT) design services for a new building and a historic renovation. Our forward-looking MEPT solutions prioritized sustainable design principles and energy-efficient technologies to connect the renovated 140-year-old Monon Railroad depot to the new 3-story structure. In the museum and archive, specialized HVAC, lighting, and fire suppression systems work to preserve and safeguard the variety of exhibits and artifacts. This seamlessly interconnected historical hub, complete with community meeting spaces and a rooftop garden, blends heritage with modern flair. KBSO Consulting is honored to have contributed our design services to the transformation of Carmel’s original Monon Railroad station site into a lively destination steeped in history.
